Meet the Ross Family
Rabbi Mendy Ross was raised in the small town of Matawan, New Jersey. Growing up in a modest sized Jewish community, Mendy learned to value each individual along with the profound effect each mitzvah has on oneself and the world at large. The son of community activists, Mendy spent his youth visiting local nursing homes, reading the Torah for his local synagogue, and helping arrange community events for the holidays. Mendy is excited to contribute to the Jewish community with his contagious positive energy and enthusiasm . Tirtza Ross (nee Phillips) was born and raised in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts where her father was the Principal of the local elementary school for over 25 years. Following in his footsteps, Tirtza has successfully taught and implemented curriculums for all age groups at a variety of educational institutions in Massachusetts. Tirtza brings a wealth of experience in Youth programming to the Chabad of Duluth team.
Rabbi Mendy and Tirtza along with their three children, are excited to enhance Jewish life in Northern Minnesota.
About Chabad Lubavitch
The origins of today’s Chabad-Lubavitch organization can be traced to the early 1940s, when the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn of righteous memory (1880–1950), appointed his son-in-law and later successor, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, to head the newly founded educational and outreach arms of the movement.
Today over 4,500 full-time emissary families direct more than 3,500 institutions. Motivated by his profound love for every Jew and spurred by his boundless optimism and self-sacrifice, the Rebbe set into motion a dazzling array of programs, services and institutions to serve every Jew.
